Sample Preview: Theme-Directed FOAT® and Mindfulness
This sample training will address the use of Theme-Directed Focusing-Oriented Expressive Arts (FOAT®) with groups, individuals, couples, and families. Applications will be considered for counseling and psychotherapy, as well as for education, organizations, spiritual groups, etc. Mindfulness practices with FOAT® as a Theme-Directed approach will be included. Laury Rappaport, Ph.D., MFT, REAT, ATR-BC is the pioneer of Focusing-Oriented Expressive Arts (FOAT®) and Focusing-Oriented Art Therapy (FOAT®).
She has taught expressive arts and art therapy for over 35 years at Lesley University, Notre Dame de Namur University, Sonoma State and others, and trains people nationally and internationally.
Dr. Rappaport is the Founder/Director of the Focusing and Expressive Arts Institute and is a Certifying Coordinator and Trainer with The Focusing Institute in NY. She is the author of Focusing-Oriented Art Therapy: Accessing the Body's Wisdom and Creative Intelligence, author/editor of Mindfulness and the Arts Therapies: Theory and Practice, and author of numerous chapters and published articles.
